What is LitRPG Author Swaps?

A members-only exchange where LitRPG and progression fantasy authors trade newsletter swaps, run group promos and giveaways together, and grow their reader lists.

Who can join?

Self-published LitRPG and progression fantasy authors. As a guide, a newsletter of around 1,000 subscribers, or a strong social or Patreon following instead. Chris reviews each application personally.

What does it cost?

Membership is free, and nothing here is paid for in money. Spots in group promos and in the weekly LitRPG Deals email cost credits, and you earn credits by bringing readers to the LitRPG Deals list.

How do swaps work?

Post the send dates you have open. Another author asks for a spot and offers a send back from their own calendar. Accept, and both sends are booked at once, each with a ready-to-paste share kit and a tracked link, so you both see the clicks you sent. Requests expire after 7 days without an answer. If you both agree, the send back can be settled later between the two of you.

What happens if I miss a swap?

A missed send without notice counts as a no-show. It costs credits, lowers your on-time record, and shows on your profile for 12 months. Two no-shows within 90 days pauses promo and issue submissions for 30 days. Swaps you already host are not affected.

What are group promos?

A shared page of books on litrpgdeals.com around a theme, such as free weekends or Kindle Unlimited reads. Any member can organize one and choose who joins. Every author in the promo shares it with their own readers.

How do group giveaways work?

An Organizer sets up the giveaway and invites other authors, who each add a book and prizes: Audible codes or print copies. Readers enter once for the whole prize pool and agree to join the newsletters of the authors taking part and LitRPG Deals, with the option to join LitRPG Releases too. Each author downloads their confirmed new readers. Winners are drawn automatically, and Audible codes are sent to winners for you.

What is LitRPG Deals?

A free reader email sent once a week, every Friday. Each issue is made of sections: Deals and New Releases in most weeks, plus Completed Series, Audiobooks, New to Kindle Unlimited and Giveaways in the weeks they run. Members submit a book to a section that is open for that issue. The email starts once 1,000 readers join; swaps, promos and giveaways work now.

How do deals stay honest?

Authors pledge to keep the listed price for the whole deal. Readers can report a broken deal from the email, and confirmed reports count against the author.

What are credits?

What you spend on spots in group promos and the weekly LitRPG Deals email. You earn them one way: readers you bring to LitRPG Deals through your own signup link, your book cards, your giveaways or your promo share links. Each one counts once they confirm and are still subscribed after 30 days. The first authors approved also get a one-time founder bonus.

What do other members see about me?

Your reach bracket and your on-time record: how many of your swaps went out by the day after their send date. Confirmed no-shows, missed shares and deal strikes from the last 12 months show there too.

Do you track readers?

We count clicks so authors can see results, without storing anyone's IP address. Links you share with your own readers stay clean.
